The Animal Behavior Answers Website is dedicated to the late, great China, the best dog ever.

China as a puppy. A silken ball of fur.

China was born in January of 1989 in League City, Texas.   Her Mama was a purebred Chow.  Her Daddy was a travelling man.

I met a wonderful fluffy puppy with a family down the street and discovered that he had a sister still looking for a home.   The two had been known as Punch and Judy.

It was love at first sight.  She'd been well loved and was 3 months old when we brought her home and changed her name.

China fit in from the start.

China's TV

She loved walks and riding in the car, but she especially loved our backyard water garden, and would spend long hours watching the fish from the bridge or the rocks along the side.  We called the pond China's TV.

She never learned not to bite toads, so maybe she wasn't the smartest dog ever.  But whatever she might have been missing in brains was more than made up for in heart.

Some people say that when our pets die they go to the Rainbow Bridge.  China would have liked that.

The sweetest face in the world.

This picture shows China as she truly was, loving, trusting, faithful and ours.  She was the favorite dog of some people who weren't even in our household, too.  She was as special as they come.

China left us on October 30, 2000 when she was eleven years old.  We were lucky to get to be her family.

Our sons grew up with China, and she was always patient and loving with them.  She was patient and loving with everyone.  She knew when to rest her head in your lap, and she knew when to just take a nap.  Even people who don't like dogs loved China.  She was everything a dog should be- and more.  She was our sister and our friend.

Willie was a fine bird.
We miss you little buddy.

I believe that when we learn to treat animals kindly and see how effective that can be, we start looking for ways to treat human beings kindly, too.   Kellie
